Pregnancy Care

Pregnancy care comprises three parts prenatal care, during pregnancy and postnatal care. While a lot of attention is given to prenatal care, postnatal care is equally important. In fact, postnatal is a difficult period and the new mother requires a lot of care.

How Can We Help?

  • The uncertainty of how best to care for your little one
  • The initial challenges of feeding and postoperative recovery
  • The complete change in life as you knew it before the delivery

Pre-pregnancy Counselling

Pre-pregnancy Counselling includes risk assessment for potential complications during pregnancy, as well as the changes that you can make to diminish your risk factors, such as increasing folic acid intake, cessation of harmful habits such as smoking and drinking, and management of medications that could compromise your baby’s development. You will also have sessions with our fertility experts, who will prepare you for what comes next.

Fetal Monitoring

Your baby's heart rate will be monitored throughout labour to make sure your baby is coping.

It’s important to check your baby’s heartbeat during labour, as a change can be a sign the baby isn’t getting enough oxygen. This is called ‘fetal distress’. The heartbeat can be monitored a number of different ways.

Pregnancy Management After IVF

If you notice any problems during pregnancy, especially if you experience pain in the lower abdomen or spotting from the genital tract, do not delay the visit to the doctor and do not waste time. The doctor will adjust the therapy and provide competent medical care.
